Warning
This article is very brief for the time being and doesn't yet present the full extent of our lore.
Please, be patient until we work on this a bit more.
To understand daily life of AXYLON's residents, we have to first understand the society as a whole, mainly the hierarchy of power. Day to day life of a corporate employee will be vastly different to the life of private business owner. Yet, with limited space daily experiences can only differ so much. Let's take a look at the day of some of our residents.
The Electrician
Meet Andrea Gallant, 34 years old mother working for Stonewell Engineering as an electrician. She is one of the lucky ones, as she only works about four hours a day. However just a year ago she had to say goodbye to her 13 years old son as they were separated until he's an adult, such is one of the many strange rules in AXYLON.
Andrea wakes up at 8 AM to go for her daily morning run through Sector 5. As she returns home, premade breakfast already awaits her in her mailbox. After a shower she walks into the Sector 4 to begin her work — which mostly consists of handling QA reports on faulty robots. The corporation she works for doesn't produce any robots of their own, but they prefer to carry out maintenance of simpler robots themselves to reduce costs. Some days she gets an alert on power outages and has to investigate. Some jobs that can be replaced by robots are still done by humans after all.
After work, Andrea has a lunch at a local restaurant and then her free time begins. Most of these days she meets up with her friends Sidney and Michael who both work as dentists for Helix. Together they attend just about any happenings and events in the city. When there's nothing interesting going on, they hit the gym or just hang out in the park. There is always a lot they have to share.
In the evening Andrea remains alone as both of her closest friends work night shift. While many people move from the streets into nightclubs, Andrea ventures into backstreets to earn more money by fixing broken electronics for local gangs. On her way home, she buys fast food for dinner and deposits all of her additional earnings into a bank, so she can invest it in stocks as she tries to save up for better health insurance plan for her kid.
That concludes Andrea's day as she returns to her bed, only for the next day to be about the same.
The Revolutionary
Everyone knows him only by the nickname Hawk as he never uses his real name. Hawk usually wakes up somewhere in Sector 6 — a place that everyone fears, yet for him it is the only safe place where corporations and authorities won't bother him to pay off his debts. However he lives on a borrowed time, as he can only rely on cash and leaving his home sector is a risky endeavor. Hawk is one of the unemployed — that by itself might be considered illegal, but mainly impossible way to survive if it wasn't for odd jobs. Fortunately for Hawk, he's a skilled hacker which can turn into a good enough profit to not only survive, but to also finance efforts of his group to sabotage the corporations and make the government fall. Not that there would be any big success so far.
Every single day is very different for Hawk. Yet, all of his days have one thing in common — never ending fight. Him versus the rich and powerful. After waking up and reading the news on the Intranet, Hawk usually just walks around and tries to get his hands on some new tech he could use. Often he risks his life, trying to sneak into places he definitely shouldn't be at. Some consider him a wanted criminal, while some see him as a local hero. Most people have no idea he even exists. Even then, sometimes he manages to damage corporations and get closer to his goal.
Revolution doesn't happen overnight, or at least here it's unlikely. And so it takes everyday effort. Hawk doesn't lack the dedication, even if he has to survive in poor conditions to be safe enough to survive another night, only for the next day to fight some more.
